ìNew Artist of the Yearî Nominated Bandís Title track Gains at Radio

(Nashville, Tenn.) May 11, 2010 ñ As the hit title track ìBlinkî from Revive leaps into the Top 15 songs in the country on the CHR radio format, the Dove-nominated vibrant, pop/rock outfit announces the June 22 release date of its anticipated sophomore Blink. Produced by the 2010 Dove Award-winning ìProducer of the Yearî team, Jason Ingram (Brandon Heath, Tenth Avenue North) and Rusty Varenkamp (Bebo Norman, Rush Of Fools), Blink grapples with the art of living in the moment while keeping a focused eye on the finish line.

ìThe theme birthed from a discussion about making a record that focuses on what matters in this life,î lead vocalist Dave Hanbury says. ìWe thought ëchasing what mattersí is a great theme for the record: Your life is over in a blink. What are you gonna do with it?î

Coming off the 44-city WinterJam tour playing in front of more than 403,000 in attendance, and recently earning its first Dove Award nomination with recognition in the coveted New Artist of the Year category for the
41st Annual GMA Dove Awards, Reviveís momentous climb continues with ìBlinkî gaining weekly on both Christian AC and CHR radio formats. The single moves up to No. 13 at CHR, and is playing in top markets including KLTY/Dallas, KSGN/Riverside CA, KXOJ/Tulsa, WJQK/Grand Rapids, WBFJ/Greensboro, WDJC/Birmingham, WCRJ/Jacksonville, AIR1 network, WBVM/Tampa, KXWA/Denver, WBSN/New Orleans, and KAIM/Honolulu.

Paul Goldsmith, Air1 networkís assistant program director/music director, says about ìBlink,î ìThis song became an instant hit with Air1 listeners.î

Kris Love, music director for Love 89.1 in Knoxville, Tenn., adds, ìReviveís ëBlinkí is one of the fastest connecting singles weíve had in a long while, weíve had immediate and steady phones since adding it and the testing confirms that the song is a hit for us.î

With the new sophomore project, Revive hooks fans with melody and atmosphere, mixing its arena rock perspectives and bittersweet tones with lyrical depth. The group worked itself hard on the songwriting for Blink, writing and recording the bulk of the project in a two-month window. The albumís opener, ìAlmost Missed This Moment,î couches its be-present-now theme in a catchy chorus and thriving backbeat. ìBlink,î ìSomething Gloriousî and ìHold On Loveî help knit the theme together, while integrating the celebratory anthem ìLove Found Me,î until the album concludes with the thoughtful ìWelcome To Eternity.î

During this new season, Revive also underwent its first lineup change. Original guitarist Tyler Hall moved back to Australia with his wife. In the midst of the recording sessions, Revive recruited guitarist AJ Cheek, whose previous band, Chattanoogaís Nevertheless, had just dissolved. Cheek meshed quickly with his three new band mates, and his recruitment adds an additional layer of meaning in Blink, coinciding with a renewal of the bandís outlook on its creativity and its day-to-day existence. Cheek recalls, ìIt was crazy how easy it was to transition into playing with these guys.î

Since its foundation in Australia, where the original four members all attended the same church, Revive has been an exercise in trust. The band moved 9,200 miles to Atlanta in 2007ó having no place to stayóintensely focused on a long-term vision on making a meaningful difference with its music. In fact, Revive views Blink as an apt extension of their collective personalityóa short-term adventure lived in the moment that fits perfectly with an purposeful long-term goal.

On the road, Revive will play 50 shows between May 15, and Sept 19, at summer festivals and camps, and will join Hawk Nelson and Britt Nicole on a national tour this fall. For more on Revive, tour dates and to view the bandís video blogs from the road, please visit

About Revive:
Originally from Sydney, Australia, Revive cites influences such as Third Day, Switchfoot, Jeff Buckley and Steven Curtis Chapman, and has developed a unique sound that unites their aggressive rock appetites with more mainstream pop sensibilities. Revive caught the attention of Third Day frontman Mac Powell during a tour of Australia. Powell kept in touch with the band after he returned to the states and encouraged the group to move to Atlanta. Since that leap of faith, the band signed with Essential Records and recorded its U.S. debut with Powell handling production duties. Since then, Revive has been constantly touring the country opening for artists like Big Daddy Weave, Sanctus Real, DecembeRadio, and of course, Third Day.
